INFO ABOUT ME

Since graduating from Manhattan Edit Workshop, I've been a Teacher's Assistant helping students, worked as a freelance editor at The Wall Street Journal, and have also done other additional work making videos for Manhattan Edit Workshop and promotional video for a company called The Padcaster. I've also edited together a promo trailer for a comedy style web series called "I'm Gay" that is being featured on Cringefactory.com.

I have working knowledge of FCP 7, FCP X, Adobe Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects) and Avid Media Composer. I'm also aware of the basics of compressing video for transfer or the web and the codecs needed to complete that process.

Being a teacher's assistant required a certain level of people skills, problem solving, the ability to communicate effectively with both students and co-workers and an organized system to ensure that each student had what was needed before starting each new lesson.

The position of an editor also requires skills such as attention to detail and organization and I'm confident that these skills that I've obtained and built on would bring outstanding results to the position that is being offered.

I'm seeking to grow and be more capable than I am now, so I look forward to the opportunity to meet more experienced mentors. I'll show that such guidance will not be put to waste.

If interested, please contact my email at Ssmith6889@gmail.com and I'll respond at my earliest convenience.
